You have up to 25 feet of large and small intestines. Chances are you putting pressure on a sensitive area. Your belly button is also a common place for hernia's, but if it doesn't hurt when you lift something your fine. Good luck and God Bless

YES you can. My grandfather had some sort of tumor that wrapped around inside where his belly button is and caused his belly button to be an outty.. (the not normal kind) and he had to get surgery to remove it.
