Girl, let me tell you. It is way past time that they let Coach Williams up in the HOF. He was the first and only black QB to win a Super Bowl. That right there is a ground braking accompishment and he is worthy to be up in there.

Why? Just because he won a Superbowl? Trent Dilfer won a Superbowl. Should he go into the Hall of Fame when he retires? No he shouldn't. Williams was a average QB at best. He did have one of the best Superbowl performances off all time. But he does not belong in the Hall of Fame.

No, He was a great college player and I was proud when he won SB XXII. But other than that he didn't do much in the NFL
and if Doug Williams deserves to be in HOF, so does Jim Plunkett ( 2 rings), Joe Thiesmann, Jim MacMahon, Mark Rypien, Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer .

My short answer is no. he was an above average quarterback, but I don't see any stellar accomplishments he had other than winning the Super Bowl , which is an achievement in itself, but not good enough solely for HOF consideration. True, he was a trendsetter, but the HOF is based on individual & team achievements & statistics.

No. I am a Redskins fan and I love what he did for the Skins in that Super Bowl year. But he was a journeyman quarterback and not HOF material. The answer to your question is a resounding "no."

Why do you think he deserves to be in? Make your case with some statistics or something.

He had one great game and a whole lot of ordinary(and less than ordinary) games. That won't get you in the hall of fame.

No, sorry. He's just simply not good enough. He played 9 seasons, and he really did not have any stellar ones. He'll always be remembered for his great super bowl performance, but other than that, he is very, very average.

Sorry BIB,

Average quarterback who had good team mates, too many teams on the resume and not enough Super Bowls to support him.
