Manufacturers only make what people want to or will consume. Doing otherwise, they may go bankrupt. Consumerism is a word created by those who despise capitalism, people who forget that taking away the freedom to create what, how, when, and why what one wants to create and offer for sale is what raises the quality of life. Consumerism is their "straw man." Please don't let it make you a skeptic. But only buy what you need if you think you have too much now.

Did you just make up that word? That type of behavior will eventually turn you into a street person. If you have wealth and can't stop buying, your wealth will be gone very soon. If you have so much money and such a lack of control, you should donate your money to the poor.
