I realize that everyone is different, but in general, there are groups that are distinctively more rude and obnoxious than other people.
Are they trying to make up for something? Pretend they own the place because of their minority status?

Mira, you're just proving my point even further.
I was just asking a question about something that I'd frequently seen. I wasn't rude about it. I didn't say African Americans, Asians, Caucasians or Latinos. I was asking people why certain group of people were more rude than others.

Lacedout.mami --- Whites are not the only ones who voted for George Bush. In fact, I am adamantly opposed to him.

In my experience, I have found that most of the time, cultures, or races who consider themselves "minorities" or "oppressed peoples" have little or no respect for anyone but themselves.

They are only concerned with their own cause, and no one else matters to them. For instance, the idea of Animal Rights means nothing to a person who feels that they, themselves are being mistreated.

Also, because they are indoctrinated with an idea of having been oppressed (which in this day in age is usually has no merit) they are hostile. Their thought process is formed by an idea of operating at a deficit. They feel like they are constantly at a disadvantage, so it creates an air of hostility.

This is just my observation, and it is not unique to one specific culture.

It's basically a case of "haves" and "have nots". I find that ANY individual who is at least reasonably successful, is usually more enlightened, and realizes that there is more to be gained by a smile, and a polite gesture, than by a harsh look and an insult.

It's really about intelligence.

Good question. Don't worry about all of the responses which will undoubtedly call you racist. No one culture has been singled out here.

Race is not a determining factor in how rude a person in. It is indeed a matter of environment, morals, and even community. Some of you should be ashamed, for being such hypocrites. We are so quick to point the finger but look at your behavior just regarding this question alone! Wow like I said morals and environment some of you should get a change of scenery and gain some self respect.

Rudeness is a character flaw and it not a inherent trait of a particular race. Rudeness and arrogance are traits of black, whites, Asians from rich and poor background alike. Some people have a false sense of grandeur and others have a air of entitlement because they come from old money.

What kind of races? Horse races? Car races? Maybe you mean dog races?

I was at a foot race once that got pretty hostile. A lot of yelling from the crowd. And a guy shot off a gun at the beginning too. How rude!

Take note of what James wrote (and he is white). A dash - it means alot. All people are always trying to compensate a perceived disadvantage with something else that they hope can cover up for the area that they are lacking in.
