It's like they think they sound smart when they say something like "The Chiefs won't be able to win today unless they can run the football." Why don't they just say, "run the ball?"

Does anybody get where I'm coming from or am I on crack....

It bothers me a lot, especially given that running the ball is no longer the recipe for winning that it once was. If you look at teams that have had success winning over the past several seasons, passing the ball has become just as important as the ability to run.

Running the ball with greater success doesn't necessarily lead to winning. Winning leads to running the ball. Unfortunately, most announcers and analysts aren't smart enough to change their thinking.

I get where you're coming from.

It's like other people using complete proper terms such as "I'm going to get some gasoline" or "You want a Coca Cola?" "Turn it to the Nashville Network" . It can be annoying but it doesn't bother me too bad on most days, plus it depends on who it is saying it and how annoying they sound.

Not as bad as counting how many times Moose Johnston says "opportunity."
