why are there so many roaches in large cities?

Roaches are the most hardy of insects, they have totally adapted to living with and living on humans. Where ever humans are, there will be roaches. The more humans are crammed together, the more roaches are around to help themselves to our waste. Large cities have a large number of people in little space. Good luck with them.
