My stances on Abortion and Capital Punishment are (in no particular order) considered Liberal for one and Conservative for the other. I have been called some pretty bad names in Answers. Care to take a shot at who calls me the most and worst names?

The names I am called are things like Nazi. That to me is offensive. Idiot or moron, neither of which are true, are just silly. But Nazi is crossing the line.

I'll take a guess. I'll bet you are against abortion, for the liberals are more worked up about abortion than capital punishment. If you don't agree with them on that one, the worst names come flying from them.

The conservatives don't get quite so worked up about those against capital punishment. That is my guess.

I'll bet your abortion stance gets you called a Nazi by some. Am I close?

Probably conservatives, at least that's been my experience here in small town midwest USA.

My take is this: Life is a Choice. And you cannot be pro-life and pro-capital punishment at the same time and not be a hypocrite. Therefore, I'm against capital punishment in all but the most extreme cases. (To give you an idea of what extreme would be for me, Timothy McVeigh would be in solitary confinement in a Federal penitentiary if I were on the jury.)

Interesting. I have some liberal views and conservative views as well. For one thing, I think drugs should be legalized. Why spend $200 billion a year and crowding our prisons with drug users when drinking and smoking is perfectly okay? I too am against the death penalty, but only because it costs way less to put somebody away for life then it does to actually execute them once the appeals process has been completed. But I will NEVER agree that a woman murdering her unborn baby should be considered a "choice". Now if you're opening yourself up to be called bad names? Not sure that's a contest I want to enter my friend!

I don't want to guess, because it's not important. What matters is that you are against abortion and capital punishment...! :)
lol, it's true though that it doesn't help to criticize others for thinking in a different fashion than you. The point is to be wise, informed, outspoken and patient, they'll come around, or you did the best you could trying anyway....

I would be very surprised to learn that EVERY person on one side calls you names.

I seriously doubt that.

I probably have never called you any names at all. If you're anti-abortion, I may have called you a theocrat, but that's hardly among the most offensive terms I've seen on this site.

They have difficulty discussing REAL issues so they feel they must resort to name calling and personal attacks. Maybe it makes them feel they are important or have some sort of power. Actually it makes them look foolish. They will complain about abortion but offer no solution to the problem of girls needing or wanting an abortion. They complain about your stand on capital punnishment but don't offer any evidence to refute your points. Instead they use childish name calling and personal attacks. They really are silly and pathetic.

Who cares neither group cares about the people. If the Democrats and Republicans would work for the people we would not have the problems we have now. It will get worse before it gets better. I did not vote for Ross Perot however I used to laugh at his remarks "If we allow NAFTA we will hear a giant sucking sound with the jobs leaving the country" Wow that old coot was right. All you Dem's and Repub's fix the system and stop our jobs from leaving. If the top end profits with no bottom there is no one to trickle down to! On the other hand if we do not have jobs we have no one to hit with new taxes! Mark my words WE will have another giant economic correction. Fix it before it happens!

I would call you a Full Time American. Someone who can see the whole picture and not the limited view by the extremes. Both extremes are intolerant to change and refuse to admit the other wrong. The neat thing is from the center you can criticize both.

Are you asking people to call you names? I can't think of any bad ones because I think the most intelligent people are the ones who can see both sides of the political coin. Being totally Liberal, or totally Conservative, in my opinion has always been an ignorant way to view things.

People wonder why crime, and society are so bad today.

Abortion - The woman should make the choice, and we should stay out of it....whatever it is. It's not your body, it's not your baby, it's not your choice. Let it go...

Capital Punishment - If crimials realized they would be put to death for serious crimes (an not spend years in prison on appeals, but killed within 30 days) serious crime would stop. Everyone used to park in handicap stalls until the ticket jumped up to over $300. We don't need to waste time, money, effort, or "rehabilitation" on anyone who thinks murder, rape, assault, etc. is okay.

And before you think about turing the bible on me, or the "if you kill someone who kills your a killer" crap on me, the bible says "thou shall not murder" I have NO PROBLEM killing a murderer, but I would never murder an innocent person....unless it was war --- but let's not open THAT can of worms yet!!
