I didn't gain any weight the first trimester. I lost 10 pounds. I also don't weigh myself everyday either. Only when I go to the doctor every four weeks, then I write down that weight and go by that.

This is my second child I am 15 weeks. I have gained 3 pounds. However I was alittle overweight to begin with so if you are average size you should gain between 20 and 30 pounds total. So 5 to 10 would be good in the first cause main weight gain should be in the second and third trimester.

I fluctuated a lot my first trimester, but from my normal weight to below. Because every woman is different, the charts don't matter much in the first trimester. Sure, you aren't supposed to gain twenty pounds, but daily water can fluctuate extremely, appetites and starting weights vary so much, and they just kept telling me not to worry. You aren't expected to start much weight gain typically until the second trimester, and even then it can be very slow or jump depending on the person. Just eat healthy and remember you're not actually feeding two whole people, don't load up on salt but don't cut it out completely, get excercise because it helps the swelling, (and massage those legs and put them up if you're retaining water, it helps and reduces vericose veins) and exercise also will help you regulate your base weight gain, and load up on things that have lots of nutrients. Your baby loves it! But mostly, don't worry. Whatever you gain, as long as it is within healthy limits, you're fine. They say you need at least thirty pounds to cover it all. I say that if in the end you don't go over fifty you did better than most women, and the speed at which you gain it is your own.

I gained almost nothing during my first trimester - due to severe morning sickness. I couldn't keep anything down. I'm sure you're fine - the majority of women gain the majority of weight during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. 30-35 lbs total is idea for 40 weeks, so around 1 lb a week is normal, but toward the end, it was easy for me to gain up to 2 lbs a week.

If pre-pregnancy weight was in the healthy range for your height according to your healthcare provider (a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9), you should gain between 25 and 35 pounds, gaining 2 to 5 pounds in the first trimester and about 1 pound per week for the rest of your pregnancy for the optimal growth of your baby.
If you were underweight for your height at conception (a BMI below 18.5), you should gain 28 to 40 pounds. If you were overweight for your height (a BMI of 25 to 29.9), you should gain 15 to 25 pounds. If you were obese (a BMI of 30 or higher), you should gain no more than 15 pounds. If you're having twins you should gain about 35 to 45 pounds. If you fall into any of these four categories, talk to your healthcare provider about how much you should gain each month

I gained none until I was 21 weeks. When you get weighed at your doctor appointment go with that weight. They will track your weight for you... you don't need to worry if they aren't concerned.

dude. i have no idea. i gained 6 pounds in my 3rd month, and then i think igained 5 in my first two. so i think 11. girl, dont worry so much.
the think that helped me with weighing at home, is always weigh yourself in the morning right after your morning pee....no fluctuation then. it has totally worked.
Best of Luck To You.
