Al quada got its start in the 90s under the clinton presidency and he ignored the threat, even after several attacks. One on US soil. He even ignored the warning given in '96 of Osama planning to use airliners in suicide attacks. I would much rather pay attention to the threat and do something about it rather than return to the idea that there isn't really a threat.
Or do you like seeing American civilians die?
