behind the big boss's back ... do you think this antic will finally get him fired?

He's out of control.

Luckily, she is not Jewish, but what are the possible outcomes of him doing this?

If he is determined to get fired there is a way that you can help him and yourself. Simply have him sexually harass you. He will get canned immediately and you can get a settlement from the company : )

That particular co-worker might not be Jewish but there maybe others in your office who are. If another co-worker were to see that I would assume they would immediately report him/her to your HR department - or least at tell the manager s/he is doing that to. And what if the co-worker who saw that gesture WAS Jewish?? Or even worst, what if a client saw?

The stupid thing is all this is when s/he gets fired, s/he will NOT be able to qualify for unemployment (if that was their goal) benefits since s/he knowingly violated a company policy AND knowingly created a hostile work environment. The other thing is this person is going to have a reputation of being anti-Semitic. Word gets around and people in industries talk. And there's no way the current firm would give a good reference.

Hi Pal,
This would all depend on the skin tone of the person and the religious inclination( even nothing matters).
However if there is a performance scale in the place you work at and he/she is better than you....you cannot do much....even if he/she decides to streak....( do you get the picture?)You might even want to include office protectionism...this means that he/she has done work outside of office that is important inside the office.

In this day and age anything can get you fired.
Is this co-worker potentially guilty of creating a hostile work environment designed to make someone feel uncomfortable or threatened?

Tell him to do it in front of the boss if he really wants to get fired. I'd do it, I've done a lot worse. Ask him why he's being such a pansy about it. If I wanted to get fired, I'd flip off the boss to his face. I've done it before and it works well.

Personally, I've never resigned from a job until I secured a new one to go to.
But your co-worker sounds fun. I suggest he blacks his face and plays 'Swanee River' on a ukelele during office hours. And thus offend/amuse big boss.
Encourage him and enjoy while he lasts!

Your co-worker is looking for attention for fellow employees. Apparently, he's getting it.

If you and all your co-workers concentrated on doing what you are paid to do and stopped worry about what everyone else were doing, your work place probably would be pretty productive.

From this & your previous job-questions, sounds like you work in a really bizzare place, the kind you see on the news where somebody goes on a shooting rampage. I'd get another job, fast.
