What does it take to be a good author and get published and make good money?

To be a good author and get published and make good money you need 1.) the ability to write. 2.) dedication and determination (because even great writers have a hard time getting published) 3.) timing (a great book won't sell if people aren't interested in the topic) and finally a lot of luck. And even if you get published doesn't mean you will make a lot of money. Write for the love of writing and if you publish and make lots of money it will just be a bonus

It takes a heck of a lot. Only about 5% of all authors actually earn a living writing. The rest do it in addition to working another job. Pax - C
