I'm looking to submit work to some literary magazines, but I know I need to go to the right places. I probably shouldn't submit things to the top magazines at first. Any decent magazines to start with?

Writers Digest is a good magazine with good articles on writing. They also have good contests. Glimmer Train is a good magazine although they tend to be more literary and esoteric. Pax - C

Try the small literary magazines listed in Writer's Market.
You can find a copy at your local library. Unless you're another
Hemingway, don't submit to well known markets as the competition here is brutal.

Go to writers market (book or website). Any market you're looking for can be found.
