reduced? What is the amount based on, like minimum wage or what if one parent is unemployed? Really in this case the custodial parent does not work either so how is this fiqured. The amount has been set since the divorce when the noncustodial parent was working, just wondering? Child support has been paid somewhat by family at times This is a difficult situation, where the non-custodial parent was mental problems but draws no disability or income. Thanks

My ex was in jail, and his mother tried to lower his child support. It was dismissed, the judge said he knows he has an obligation and should have keep his hind end out of jail and take care of it. Of course it got behind, but they are taking it out of his taxes each year until its paid. But each situation is different and it depends on how good the lawyer is.

In most places the amount of the support would depend upon the amount of income so if there was no income, there can be no support and the custodial parent will have to depend upon other ways to support herself.
