It would appear that when Democrats want to rally their leftwing base, their sure-fire method is to throw them some "red meat" by bashing the troops.

This phenomenon is occuring more and more frequently, and I think it is despicable.

"Tricky" Dick Durbin compares the troops to Nazis, Soviet gulags and Pol Pot:

"Don't Know Jack" Murtha falsely accuses Marines of murder:

Hanoi John Kerry implies the troops are "dumb":

The list goes on and on. This should serve as a reminder to all Americans who's side the Democrats are really on (i.e. not ours!)

"Habeas corpus isn't a complex legal term. it is the liberty from being thrown in penal complex illegally, without help and no bring about sight. No president could ever acquire the flexibility to call somebody an enemy, wave his hand, and lock them away indefinitely. The Founders made the president difficulty to the guideline of regulation. They rejected dungeons and chosen due technique. all of us understand the version between fairness and persecution. If we don't act right this moment to repair the militia Commissions Act and fix our constitutional rights, difficulty-loose protections like habeas corpus must be lost continually, and our u . s . might grow to be unrecognizable." i don't have faith the final courtroom will uphold this. i'm appalled on the convenience with which human beings are prepared to resign their rights - surprisingly our Congressmen! EDIT: it is on the way - study your guy or woman aspects!

Wow look at all those right-wing links. What's wrong? No REAL news on today?

John Murtha and John Kerry are veterans of the US military. Aren't you engaging in some "bashing" too? Except they didn't call troops, or anyone ELSE for that matter, names, that seems to be the province of "Dead Marxists" and other conservatives in Yahoo Answers. Once you grow up a little, perhaps you will be taken more seriously, but don't count on it.

I notice you don't include Rush Limbaugh's pair of comments, the one about "Phony soldiers" and the one comparing McGough to a suicide bomber. And why have you not reported about Fox News outing a reliable intel source into al Qaida?

Why is that?

Seems to me that all the actual statements bashing the troops have been coming from the Republicans. And it isn't just verbal. After denying them body armor, those wounded in combat are denied promised medical benefits by the White House or put into facilities with subhuman conditions.

You can lie all you want about Democrats, it doesn't make it true. Don't forget, that while liberals were volunteering in Vietnam, you conservatives were using whatever means you could to stay at home and whine under your desks.

I'll match up John Kerry's war medals against AWOL Bush's or Dick Cheney or Rush Limbaughs record any day. How may medals for bravery did they earn? How many times did either of them volunteer to serve their country? Kerry has dedicated his life to service top America. First by volunteering for duty in Vietnam twice. Then by spending the rest of his life serving his country in office. When did Rush Limbaugh ever serve his country? When did Bush? Cheney? Rumsfield? Mitt Rmoney? Guiliani? You?

Maybe before you attack others for being patriotic, you really ought to think about why you hate those who support the troops? If you love the occupation of Iraq so much, why are you here? Shut up and ship out.

Funny... reading some of the responses one would think that you made up those (and many more not listed) examples of Democrats actually disrespecting our solders.... Yet they totally believe a totally fabricated claim that Rush Limbaugh called troops that disagree with the war as "phony" It just proves that truth and facts have nothing to do with the alternate universe that they live in.... sad... truly sad...

None of these comments bash the troops... you obviously have a comprehension problem. Read the actual quotes in their context. If you have attained a 5th grade level of reading you should be able to know how to do this.

We need to stop demonizing Americans... or we need to start with people like you. I don't even vote Democrat but I don't read your biased sources either... I look for objective sources.

As always, the repubs twisting words and accommodating them to suit their stupid arguments. The comparisons were made because of the Abu Ghraib incidents. How about Mr. Gonzales Torture Memos? are those fictitious and democrat lies? What is not true about dumb high school dropouts joining the military? Wasn't socially accepted no, but true.
Research better, or interpret better your yellow journalism before you post such a misguided and uneducated statements.

It does not matter what argument you pose to a Dem. they have there mind set that all republicans are evil, rich, self centered, noncarring war mungers. This comes from years of mind conditioning. I mean to say, It's how they where brought up.and taught. Most of which have never been allowed to look at from our point of view.

With the vast majority of Americans against staying in Iraq, it seems to me you and people who agree with you are the ones hurting America.

The cons said we want America to lose when we said there were no WMD's.

The cons said we want America to lose when we said the elections wouldn't change anything.

The cons said we want America to lose when we said we didn't believe Bush when he said we were "making progress" in Iraq... in 2003... in 2004... in 2005... in 2006... and this year too.

The cons said we want America to lose when we ridiculed Cheney when he said the insurgency was in it's last throes... two years ago.

The cons said we want America to lose we called Rumsfeld a failure.

The cons said we want America to lose when we pointed out that the surge wasn't working.

Maybe it's time to stop listening to Bush and all the other backers of this war who have been wrong about it 100% of the time, and listen to the people who have been consistently right about Iraq from the beginning, the 'libs' you hate so very much.
