i have a crf100. everytime i gun it it lags for a second then pics up. what could the problem be

First check the air filter to see if it is clean before doing anything to the carb. if its clean them it is most likely a dirty carb.

Always give "year", make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
You probably interfered with the performance when you modified the exhaust - might need to be re-jetted.
Depending on the year and how many hours are on the engine - it may need piston & rings, valve job, or valve adjustment.

If it's not the carb you probably need a bigger bike. Those are great but have 0 power.

Probably something to do with the carburator. Thats where i would start first

have the carb rebuilt or /and re jetted for you environment and altitude
