This is not the first Bush has sacrificed critical intelligence for short-term political gain. In August 2004, the Bush Administration leaked the name of a 25-year-old Pakistani named Muhammad Naeem Noor Khan as the source behind one “Terror Alert”. It turned out that Kahn was working deep inside al-Qaeda as part of a CIA sting operation. According to Newsweek, Kahn was “one of the most important agents in place the United States has managed to recruit in al Qaeda. Had he been able to continue e-mailing members of al Qaeda, security agencies could have rolled up many more members of the network. But once Khan's name was in the paper Aug. 2, any chance of exploiting him further was gone.”

“The whole thing smacks of incompetence or worse,” Tim Ripley, a British security analyst who writes for Jane’s Defense publications, told Reuters. “You have to ask: what are they doing compromising a deep mole within Al Qaeda when it’s so difficult to get these guys in there in the first place?”

Second Paragraph:
"spokeswoman Dana Perino said: 'No, we were not ... We were very concerned to learn about it.'"
Tenth Paragraph:
"White House officials said the matter would be referred to the Director of National Intelligence, and that the White House was not planning any internal investigation."
Thirteenth Paragraph:
"Homeland security adviser Fran Townsend echoed Perino's "concern" and referred the matter to the nation's spy chief."
So, in closing, the White House referred an INTELLIGENCE matter to the INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY. How is that an impeachable offense? Even if it wasn't handled correctly by the DNI.
Would you rather some of President Bush's aides investigate sensitive intelligence?
No, sir, this is just another case of the Media helping to keep us safe. You know, like with the artcle about how we track terrorist's bankinig activities and the article about how we tap terrorist's cell phones. Yep, those journalists sure are doing a good job of supporting.... err.... STOPPING terrorism.
Tell me, if you had take the information about SITE monitoring terrorist websites, before the media printed it, and given it to Al Qaida, and the government found out, could you be tried for Treason?
Answer: Yes.
Why should the media be immune?

Ok if this story is true, there may be an Al-Qaida mole in the White House. That doesn't mean that Bush had anything to do with the leak. However: this is such an important issue that I don't think Congress can simply sit back and ignore it. I would definitely support an independent investigation from Congress. This has to be resolved.
This is not a partisan issue. This is an issue of national security. We have soldiers dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. Supposedly in an effort to defeat Al-Qaida. If this was really a legitimate way to deal them a blow, and it was leaked, someone is definitely a traitor.

You really need to extract your head from whatever bodily orifice it happens to occupy and realize that it is the left which consistently betrays this nation and its intelligence gathering methods, not George Bush. Remember the NY Times revealing our methods of following terrorist bank accounts by printing US procedures on the friggin front page? You leftists can't have it both ways, accusing the government of spying on you and then attacking Bush when methods of spying are leaked. Also, remember Pat Leahy leaking sensitive material and eventually being thrown off of his senate committee for it? You people really are a scream. Such extraordinary hypocrisy and shamelessness.
I'm not sure which is funnier--suggesting it was the president of leaking, something which you people do on a daily basis; or pretending that you actually care that something has happened which is detrimental to the United States.

Is it the first time Bush has leaked something? I remember two years ago the British were scrambling to stop another leak. They learned from that experience and when 40 terrorists tried to blow up 12 planes across the Atlantic they didnt inform Bush.
Bush is the leak

I'd say SITE is responsible because they fed the information to the White House to soon or to the wrong people.

It isn't the first time. Dick Cheney ordered the release of top secret information that sabatoged our intelligence gathering in Iran. Don't forget that Scooter Libby was convicted of covering up for the Dick Cheney.

What are you talking about? Bush is the leak, it was probably some disenfranchised intelligence worker that has only his/her own good in mind and is forgetting what he/she is doing is important.
