Unfortunately, the answer lies in reading and discussing our history, culture and what todays politicians have done to destroy it; and if someone isn't naturally interested that just won't happen in public (or many private) schools.
So.... if the candidates at today's Republican presidential debate are an indication...
Looks like we have only only one choice! Ron Paul. And if that doesn't happen, a revolt.

Regrettably, the only time this nation seems to stand up and unite and defend the constitution is immediately following an attack. Just look at the month or so following the September 11th attacks.

They'd first have to understand it. Right now some Americans think socialism and government run sectors of the economy are Constitutional, so how can you expect them to know whether the Bill of Rights is being upheld? Let's work on learning what the limited powers of government are, then we can move on to complicated topics like civil liberties.

well fedup, the actually wiliness to ACTUALLY do something for them selves instead of waiting on our so called representatives to do the right thing (you damn well know you never did and never will) instead of whining about it. Stop waiting for others to do something. Get up and do it your self and find others who are willing to do so also.
However since most Americans like to complain and have no back bone to actually ban together and do something and rather talk about how Britney Spears is applying for a job as a bartender, I guess we are actually happy with the mess of a country we have as a nation.
However I am willing to do something about this nation for the better. I want to meet others who feel like you and me and want to take action. If you truly want something done, email me through my profile. I am organizing a group of people who want to become politically active to change things for the better. You are not alone on your views that our nations needs some changing and FAST.

I don't know maybe a forced action like taking of our right to bear arms or taking our freedom of speech who knows for sure we wake up long enough to stop them then we are back to sleep and they do it anyway in a different bill we should just fire them all come election day

it will take a veto proof majority of democrats to lead by example and get to the bottom of the corruption that this bush administration represents.
when this on going criminal enterprise is finally exposed and the misused, abuse of power, and lying stops will the government be able to convince the citizens that the country is back on track, and that the constitution is again being followed.

probably when it's in shreds and burning in the wastebasket... how unfortunate it is that people are waiting for the inevitable to affect them before they will actually stand up and try to prevent the "inevitable" from happening....
All I can say is that the next few years... more and more Americans will begin to realize the injustices carried out by your government... What will it take indeed... and will you stand up when your freedoms are trampled on... I guess that remains to be seen, but honestly... I wouldn't hold my breath!

If the current administration re-introduces the draft as recommended by senior advisor Lt. General Douglas Lute, I think you will see a million person march on D.C. to physically take back the government from W and Dick and give it to Congress and the Senate.
