She was checking my fluid today by ultrasound and literally was right above my pubic bone it felt like and said his head was way down there. Does that means hes dropped? Im supposidly 36.1 cause they pushed my DD back almost 2 weeks, BUT only cause they decided at almost 36 weeks that they were going to go off the first ultrasound instead of my LMP (long story) so I think Im about a week ahead of what they say. BUT thats besides the point. I asked the nurse if cause hes so low that means labors could be soon and she said "NO that means your gonna be miserable" wow thanks lady...what do YOU think?

Your baby drops, nobody can explain why or if it willmean early delivery. The lower the baby the more comfortable you should be (which on't be that comfortable) because you don't have a kicker inthe ribs or more weight on your stomach or other organs. They may have messed up your due date fromthe beginning. Good luck!

LOL i like her answer. She wasnt trying to be mean, she's just saying that its uncomfortable for the baby to be that low in your pelvis pushing on your bladder and causing a lot of pressure.
It stand to reason that a low head will put more pressure on the cervix and you are more likely to dilate with contractions, but going into labor is so unpredictable and there are other factors involved like is the cervix softening and beginning to thin out and dilate. Next appointment with doc have him/her do a pelvic exam and tell you how far you are dilated and ask then how far down the baby's head is, a pelvic is more accurate at determining how far down the baby's head is than an ultrasound.

Sorry to say the nurse is right. My 3rd dropped a month and a half early, to the point where I wasn't even allowed to drive. I was uncomfortable pretty much all the time. The good news is my labor and delivery were very easy. Its makes you "stretchy". Good Luck!

My son was dropped and completely engaged in my pelvis from 31 weeks until delivery at 39 weeks and 5 days.

It was miserable. But it certainly didnt make labor come any sooner.

It sounds like the baby may have dropped, but labor could still be a long way off. I dropped more than a month before my mom delivered me, and my sister's son was the same way.
