Last weekend a guy called me and invited me to go downtown. I was already out on the town, so my friends and I met up with him and his friend. He offered to check my coat, bought me all my drinks, only danced with me and walked me to my car. He's definitely a gentleman and didn't try to make any moves.
So was that a date? Or what was he thinking?

I do like him. Where I live, drinks are cheap - $7 for a martini and $3 for a beer. So all you name-callers can kiss off.

no, it's not a date b/c you were out with all of your friends together. BUT he did make it pretty clear that he's interested in you! :)

If you let him buy all of your drinks, and danced with him all night, and let him pay for your coat-check...that was a date. A last-minute date, but nonetheless, a date. Up to you to give him a call and thank him for the nice evening. Tell him "Next time give me advance notice and I won't bring along all my posse." If he calls ahead next time, you know what he's thinking - he wants you to be his girl. If he says, "Your friends are cool. Let me know next time you'll be out", then he just wants to be social friends without having a commitment. Sounds like a nice guy with a level head on his shoulders! Too many want to make things serious, move in too soon, and then break your heart.

The question is what were *you* thinking?
If it wasn't a date, then why did you let him buy you all your drinks? That's what you do on a date. Are you a gold-digger or were you on a date?
If it wasn't a date then why did you let him treat you as if you were on one?
Please stop deceiving yourself into thinking men want female friends. We don't. We want girlfriends we can bang like a screen door in a hurricane. Not chick buddies we drop $300 a night on for no earthly reason other than platonic friendship. Geezus.

In my opinion it would have been a date if you would have said yes when he called and then he came and picked you up, without his friend. This sounds more like a group date. Who cares though, he sounds nice.

It sounds like it could have been a date. Hard to say since you met up and it was on short notice.

As with everything you must find the answer in time. If you like the guy just send him a note or call him and tell him you enjoyed yourself. The answer should come.

cant say for sure ..but odds are if a guys treating you like that ..he is definitely interested ..and definitely expects something else to happen ..you should call him back and see if maybe he would perhaps like to go out with you on your own ..no other friends, that way its a lot more one on one and you can try to figure him out a lot easier
