Adaware is a good product. You may want to download it directly from the Lavasoft site. Here are some other free antispyware products. My personal faborite is Superantispyware.

AntiSpyware Applications

SuperAntispyware
http://superantispyware.com/
Spybot S&D (free version requires manual updating)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
AVG AntiSpyware

Adaware from Lavasoft (free version requires automatic updating)

(These programs can be run in Safe Mode after installation and updating)

Spyware Blocker

This is free and requires you to check for and enable updates manually once a week or so. It uses no system resources. It blocks spyware before it installs.
SpywareBlaster (inoculates, not a spyware removal tool)

I won't click on unknown links, if only to prevent some ne'er-do-wells from finding ways to boost the number of "hits" to their webpages, so I can't tell you anything more than this:

The web domain you list is generally okay.

However, you need to make sure that the software's description matches your computer and its environment and the problem you're trying to solve (there are scant computer panaceas out there!). Given that you're asking a very generic question, I'm assuming that you don't know much about computers, and, as such, would advise against downloading anything that may worsen whatever problem you think your computer is experiencing, even if the program is from a trusted source (I can't tell you how many MicroSquish "patches" have screwed-up my computer!!!).

Generally speaking, spyware is not that easy to detect and eradicate, and many so-called spyware detector/removers find perfectly valid programs as spyware. It would been better to detail what problem you think you have, and how to get rid of it.

C/net has a fair reputation throughout the years. I personally think it's okay.
