True seeking by its very nature leads one towards transcendence, which means the ego will be humbled. However, being strong in spirit is not the same as being egotistical although they are often confused. It depends on which self one puts forward: The true Self or the ego self.

Because the word "humble" has more & more acquired a patronizing tone when used of other people, & an air of sanctimonious piety when used of oneself, I would have to say no.
I can't imagine how being humble would have anything to do with truths revealed, nor is "arrogant" an antonym of humble. An open mind in no way requires humility.
Misunderstanding the word creates misconceptions.

What level of humility are we talking about?
I think the overly humble are easily manipulated to believe in what they are told to believe, which is often someone else’s version of the truth.
We all have our own truth; just because I don't share yours does not make me any less humble.

Yes.
In the way that I understand 'humble'...
It is only by realizing that we are nothing...
That the lies of the ego fall away...
And the truth is then revealed...

What does humbleness have to do with truthfulness? Why cannot one be outgoing and truthful? Or am I missing something completely here?

Yes. Someone arrogant would not wish to seekthe truth, only those things which feed their ego and vanity.
Only the humble, enlightened person, who is one with their self and puts others before them, can comprehend the truth and its intentions.

that sounds like a religious question: "believe" combined with "truth".
If you mean that an arrogant and overly self-confident person can be blind to a truer meaning of life, yes, then I would agree. You need an open mind to see things for what they really are. Neither accept nor reject, at first.

Yes, if you mean humble to have the same meaning as "poor in spirit" - the absence of an arrogant ego.

I think humble people are more likely to recognize the truth, especially if it goes against their preconceived notions.
