I was just wondering, I am having my baby in a birthing center. I know that hospitals serve the mothers food while in the hospital if you get hungry,...do birthing centers feed mothers, too??

I'm not sure if you're asking about after the baby's born or during labor... Hospitals rarely feed mothers in labor, but birth center staff usually recognize that a laboring mom needs fuel as long as she's hungry. (There's a point during labor when you won't want food...)

After the baby's born -- yes, you'll be fed at the birth center, too. Typically, birth centers encourage healthy moms and babies to go settle in at home as soon as they're able...and hospitals are often happy to keep you there longer. So, if you're planning on going home soon after the baby's born, have some healthy things in the freezer that you can pop into the oven when you need it. ...

I'm not sure if I've addressed everything you wanted to know... so please clarify and I'll provide more information.

Good luck!

Wow! I had to travel an hour and a half away to go to a birthing center because my hospital wouldn't give me food...among other things. The birthing center I went to was awesome. I would never decide to go anywhere else to have a baby (unless at home). Hospitals tend to be uptight about everything where as birthing centers are usually more about making sure you're comfortable and relaxed. You made the right choice. I'm assuming you mean food during labor? As for after birth most woman leave birthing centers within 24 hours but they do feed you then too.

I had three of my kids in a birth center. Actually, the birth center I went to, they do not cook and serve the food for you. It is the job of your husband to bring some food and serve it. And yes, you are allowed and encouraged to eat during labor. I had cookies and milk 20 minutes before one of mine was born. I never did feel queasy when I was in labor.

A hospital does not feed a mother who's in labor (ice chips are all you get!!!)....I couldn't eat until after the babies were born and I passed gas (c-section)....

From my research, it doesn't look like it..But they should, that wouldn't be right if they didn't. You need your energy to push the baby out. And usually they don't feed you alot anyway, because they don't want poop coming out when you push the baby out. So if you're in labor, they usually won't, but if you're there and having contractions w/o having the water broken, i'm sure they would feed you. anyway, congrats [:
