I was recently laid off and then my husband left me alone with a 16 month old baby. I am paying all the rent and bills by myself, but right now I have NO income until I get another job, which I am looking for. Ive taken out child support on him but its not going to go through for a couple months at least she said. Does anyone know of any state help I can recieve helping me out until I get back on my feet?

Yes. There are many organizations that help out single mothers, including the government. Wherever you live, go on the state's website and find out how to apply for welfare---medicaid, food stamps, housing and additional money. You can always go to a church and they have various programs- you do not have to be religious.
Things will turn out great =) At least you're not alone and you have your baby.

Get out the phone book and look up the welfare dept or family services in your area. You should be able to get some temporary assistance including food stamps.

You can also check churches. Some offer assistance.
