I believe that Joe Torre is not going to go from the Yankees that easily. He's been with the team for about 12 years and all he's been is great. You can't fire a manager for not winning the World Series in 7 years. Some teams like the Cubs haven't won a World Series in decades. The Yankees have just been pampered with owning the World Series since Torre got hired. It's not an easy thing to do. Steinbrenner has to realize that, if it wasn't just a ploy to get the Yankees playing better (which I think it was). This is not the first time Steinbrenner has threatened something like this on someone on his team. So I think it was supposed to be a motivator. I don't think Torre will get fired. I'm a Met fan and never really cared about Torre or the Yankees, but it will be sad to see Torre go.

Torre should tell that old crank to go f himself, find a team that truly would welcome his talents.
I think Steinbrenner will fire him. Torre would be lucky.
