I like getting the peace of mind that my babies are healthy. I don't like shelling out the cash, but if you can't afford to take em to the vet, you shouldn't have them. When they weigh my ferret, they put her in a Quaker Oats container and pop the lid on. That makes me happy.

Sometimes I do, once I killed two birds with one stone at the vet's office. I took my lab for her annual and got the vet to take some stitches out of my arm too. I told her if she wanted to bill my worker's comp insurance company I'd call the office and get the info and she just laughed and said it was on the house.
2 weeks later one of the ladies from the home office called me and said the insurance company was asking them if there was an invoice for the removal of my stitches so they could close the file and I told her just tell them I got it taken care of at the vet and there was no charge! Bet they got a good laugh about that!

Yes .. I like my vet. I always wanted to be one but ... I found out that I'm severely allergic to most furred animals :-( So I just visit the vets office to watch my doggies get examed and walk out sneezing and itchy and a withy few $100 lesss than I had when I got there

I know with doctors its against ethics and policy to treat your own family members, I have no idea if vets have the same kind of code or not. Best way to find out is call around to the vets in your area and ask.

I don't. My guys got their kitten and puppy shots when they were babies. I don't get shots every year of my life, so why do they have to? It's a money scam. It's much healthier for them to build an immune system instead of pumping them full of drugs their whole lives.

I can't get my dog into my car to take her to the vet. That's my husbands job.

Please don't use that word. It brings back some unpleasant memories of an intimate examination Nigel had to undergo and makes him somewhat unhinged. Thank you.
