Yes, most of the American people are too stupid to provide for themselves. At least that's the liberal mantra. You are too stupid to save, so here's a 401(k), you are too stupid to get insurance so here is free medical care.

You are too stupid to get a job, so here is welfare. You are too stupid to be a responsible adult, so kill your child in an abortion clinic.

She says the remark about the 5K for every baby was just a thought she had, which she has now abandoned.

As for the 401K for every American, what is the right's problem with this? This is very similar to what Bush proposes as privatized social security. So everyone starts saving in there 401K and less people are dependent on social security, medicare, medicaid, etc in there retirement.

I'm really just playing devils advocate here, I am not sold on Hillary for President, and I question the validity of this proposal. Hillary is throwing out a lot of different plans (and they change by the audience she is addressing at the time). Does this sound like a set-up to empty campaign promises to anyone else?

I am not sure that she said she wants to force people to have them but instead make a 401k type plan available to everyone. I am for that as long as the plans provide the same quality of the 401k plans that employers provide such as having the deposits to be 100% tax free. If they do not provide that then there will be a lot of people who will come out with a worse deal because businesses will drop their 401k plans if there is a national plan that anyone that is available to all.

Also, I am not sure she is thinking thru the amount of work that would be needed to handle over 300 million 401k accounts. That sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. I am all for getting people to start saving for their own retirements but she needs to show exactly what her plan is before I would sign off on it.

There are some who are still talking about her $5000 per person born in the US plan. She has now dropped that plan in favor of this one. However, like I have said earlier, this is not much of a plan until she can show how it will be handled.

Personally, I doubt that much of this will be implemented, especially in her hypthothetical first term, because of the defecit, I'm reading a book called "Bill Clinton: Mastering the Presidency" by Nigel Hamilton and it is talking about the first term of the Clinton administration and the many missteps they took, among them was not being able to do as many of the proposals because they needed to focus on defecit reduction. I think that Senator Clinton likely learned many lessons from the experience, because she was very involved, but it is interesting that she continues to make these proposals, like her husband did, that he was ultimately unable to implement in his first term and dissipointed many people who voted for Clinton/Gore. I think it is likely that much of this will be pushed to the side, at least initially if she is elected due to the reality of the Iraq War and the defecit.

I guess you would prefer Duyas idea of you get no more social security, but yall can invest in a 401K or maybe lottery tickets? It sounded good to you when Bush want to do it, but now it bad? People like you don't actually listen, you just say if a democrat said it its bad, if a republican said it its good. When Hillary is president, you will then be complaining about the warrentless wiretaps, but right now,its unpatriotic to complain about it.

She did say the $5000 per kid is off the shelf. Thankfully.
But the funny part about the plan is "but that it wouldn't be a requirement that people work to participate". Hmmm. A retirement plan for people who are not working. What are they retiring from??

Yes, another typical liberal agenda move....Tax those who earn money to give it to those who don't so they can have a retirement plan after never having worked.

Yes, it seems obvious to me. If anyone does not do things the way she wants, she wants them crushed.
