microsoft mn-510 support for 802.11b standards and usb.

Laptop uses 802.11g standard.

802.11b is 4.3 Mbit/s -11 Mbit/s
802.11g is 19 Mbit/s -54 Mbit/s

usb decrease you real speed.
If usb1.1(not usb2.0) another lower speed.
Before next advise connect directly your desktop to internet without wireles. If speed will be better buy newer wireless adapter. If speed will be the same problem with your computer. Some progams can run on startup Windows and makes lower your speed. These program may be spyware
may not. For example if you have Norton anivirus software of some plug-ins everyting goes to slow down your speed.

Is the desk top connected direct to phone or cable line and then connects to router for wireless net work for lap top. What type of connection, dial up DSL, cable? Try connecting desk top direct to Internet line. Most desk tops do not have a wireless card. The connection can be slower at high use times. I use DSL Internet service provider and my speed is always 400Mbps. I also have a dial up connection at another location and speed can vary, average is 49Kbps. More info would help also allowing e-mail.

Please use punctuation. This is very confusing. It's hard to understand what you're trying to say.

Verify that your wireless router has a good connection. Take the router out of the equation and see if your laptop has a better connection direct to the modem (DSL? Cable?) If so, then perhaps y our router is having trouble and may need to be replaced. If you are still slow, consider that your computer may be bogged down with viruses or malware/spyware.
