Okay, lets face it.. The BCS is BOGUS. There has got to be a better way to determine who plays who for the national title other than the friggin BCS. Instead of having all the mediocre teams playing in the Aflac-Tostitos-HewlettPackard-FederatedInsurance Bowl... Lets come up with a playoff system.

Alright. Here's the best idea I've heard for making a college playoff possible. First; You shorten the regular season by one game. Second; You make a three round Tourney. That means two teams will play one extra game, and two teams will play two extra each season. The top 8 teams get in, still based off the BCS. (Better to have controversy between 8th place and 9th place than 1st place and 2nd place.) All rounds of the playoffs will still be played at current bowl locations, with the current bowl names. That way the cities hosting the big bowls won't lose money.

That's the best idea I've heard. It makes sense because it minimizes the number of companies/people that would take a financial loss switching to the playoff system. If the bowl cities still get theirs, and the small schools still get to play big schools all season, this should work.

I totally agree. There should be a playoff system. The only problem is the money the bowl system generate. So keep the small bowls for the wannabes, so we have something to watch and bet on. Then take the top 7 money generating bowls, and have an 8 team playoff determined by the BCS. That way the bowl games are kept intact so the host cities doesn't lose any money. This would also create neutral sites, so once and for all we can determine the National Champ ON THE FIELD!

As much as I hate the BCS also, they will NOT throw it away for some time. The NCAA signed a contract with the BCS for X amount of years. I think there is still like 5-7 years left on that contract. You also don't have to think up a Playoff system, it would be very easy to just bring over the one from the NFL!!

I have. The top 8 teams play in a playoff. Three games played overall and a champion is crowned, meanwhile the other bowls can also still go on even the BCS bowls.

They need a play off system where the winners of each division play for the championship by elimination.
