Just be confident in who you are. I get them all the time, and most women think I'm gay. But that's not the case. Just smile, thank him or her, and move on with the conversation. If the going gets awkward, say you gotta split.

The same way I would from a straight indiviual. A compliment is a compliment, if you look good amongst the men and women you should be proud!

Let's reverse the question. As a gay male, I've been hit on several times by straight women. I take it as a compliment.

It shouldn't matter if you're gay or straight. It's always nice to have someone appreciate you for your looks or personality.

If it's not aggressive, I say "thank you". A compliment is a compliment, no matter where it comes from.

I was cornered in a bathroom once, and I didn't enjoy that sort of compliment...

Any compliment is positive.
I would thank the person.
If it were to be a come on, I would let the person know I have no problem with a persons choice. But my choice is not to be with another man, sexually.
No problem.

It's nice when anyone compliments you, so I would say thank you, and if they pursued it I would let them know I do have a boyfriend (as I do when anyone hits on me too much) and leave it at that.

I would be more flattered than I would by a straight compliment, probably because it takes more guts to say it, especially if that person doesn't know if you're straight or what ... :-)

Same way I would take a "straight" compliment. Say thank you.
