Turkey is continually being attacked by Kurdish terrorists and the Turkish government has given the go ahead to use any means to stop them including crossing into Iraq and attacking them. This is what the US has to say on the matter

"If they have a problem, they need to work together to resolve it and I am not sure that unilateral incursions are the way to go, the way to resolve the issue," said State Department spokesman Sean McCormack.

I mean seriously. Unilateral incursions. What about invasions? What do the US call the invasion of Iraq?

silbecl - the coalition was the US, UK and a few hundred Australians. That was it. Every other country refused to commit troops for the invasion. other countries offered troops after "mission accomplished" but quickly realised that mission was far from accomplished.

Finally, someone is seeing those "poor, poor" Kurds for what they are. I recall Saddam's gassing of a Kurdish village to be one of the major excuses that Americans used to rationalize this war.
And all those horrified remarks about Saddam "gassing his own people"? The Kurds weren't Saddam own's people. They're not even Arabs, yet they occupy a third of an Arab country. The Kurds posed a threat to Saddam, so he killed them; that's what dictators do. (He also killed Islamic extremists, in case any wants to know.)
The U.S. has probably perpetuated more "ultimate hypocrisies" than any other nation, and this is just one more on a very long list.

Turkey has been a volatile, unstable, and unsafe region for as long as most of us can remember. Remember the punishments they dealt out to Americans with Drugs ? Kinda Hypocritical, when they make the best Hashish in the world, and the Primo brands have the Turkish State Symbol, in Gold leaf, on each gram. Looks like a big, stoney Hershey bar !

Anyway, back to the present,..The Turkish vs Kurdish thing has been going on for centuries, like most middle-eastern conflicts. The best thing for the US to do, is to continue playing both sides, as we need the Kurd's support in Iraq, and the Military Bases in Turkey. We have been giving the Turk's millions of dollars a year. since the Cold War. when that was our closest Missle Site to the USSR.
BTW, It was our warheads in Turkey, that JFK took out, to get the Soviets to remove theirs from Cuba.

please try to understand, the USA is, as they put it" Above the law" their pharaoh Bush-e-ses has visions from god telling him to fight terrorism.. unfortunately he has gotten it wrong and is instead fighting it he is feeding it and now it grows beyond all expectations. mostly out of the USA's control

of course they would say about Turkey and the Kurdish as they did. Turkey has no oil. They are also far tougher than the Iraqi army. the Pharaoh does not want to pick a fight with them as of now. he needs their cooperation for the base's to help USA's military since they are still loosing the war against Iraq.

The US govt is a total hypocritical organisation at peasant.

in the US peoples defence!!! it is not the policy they were promised. Their Pharaoh lied to them and set this entire illegal war, as it is, in motion and is at the same time destroying the nations respect and prestige along with it

It's the ultimate Turkish hypocrisy. The Turks have been murdering Kurds for hundreds of years.

I guess it sucks when one's tactics are finally used against them.

But I get the point.

While it appeared to be a unilateral action, the fact is the U.S.-led invasion was a coalition of a dozen or so countries. More importantly, they were enforcing the U.N. Security Council resolutions.

I don't agree with the decision to invade Iraq, and I detest hypocrisy, but have to challenge your assertion that the U.S. invasion was unilateral.

Sounds a bit hypocritical. The US is making the typical logical mistake thinking that anybody who is against a Muslim group we don't like is our friend. They ALL HATE US!!! The Kurds just have used us as a stepping stone to get their independance, and they will start doing terrorist attacks against America targets as soon as it suits them.
They are about to start a disastrous war with Turkey, and it may well cause WWIII.

People are now like sheep. We follow and no mind of our own. Russia, China, N. Korea, and also possibly Iran are forming as allies. We as citizens if this country need to worry about covering our "azz", and not those of other countries.

I think the Turks should have the right to pursue terrorists wherever they are, or run to. Hypocrisy on the part of the US? No, we don't pursue/kill terrorists, usually, in Pakistan, Iran, or the other "stans" they traditionally run away to. We should, and so should the Turks.
