Yeah , those immature fools at Air America (the self-proclaimed LIBERAL organization) now see fit to broadcast several Atheist's views on God and Religion . And to make it sound like a warning , they call it 'THEOCRACY ALERT' . Great job for Satan's minions . But is it a great job for liberals ?
Let's put it this way . . .. I'm a Christian and a Conservative . If O'Reilly or Hannity , or Limbaugh , or Ingraham , or Levin , or anybody on the right started promoting anti-Christian shows , I'd dump em in a New York minute .
But the question is. . . Will Liberal Christians dump anyone associated with 'THEOCRACY ALERT' ?
OR
Do Liberals find ANTI-CHRISTian Views Compatible With Their Own ?
Come on Liberal 'Christians' , which is more important to you. . . . God or Political Ideology ?

For any of you returning to check back in - I asked some fairly simple questions . Primarily I wanted to know if you would dump Air America or any other organization that would do such a thing . Statistics show that 3-7% of Americans are atheists , so common sense would dictate that it's not a good idea to focus a business on 3-7% of the population . However , Air America is doing so . Then why ? Well I don't think it takes a genius to figure out that their intent is to besmirch God and Christianity . Why else would they do it ? - Not for business that's for sure . So we're still left with my basic questions . Would you , or would you not dump your political affiliations that besmirch God ?

g) "Individualism, united with altruism, has become the basis of our western civilization. It is the central doctrine of Christianity ('love your neighbor,' say the Scriptures, not 'love your tribe'); and it is the core of all ethical doctrines which have grown from our civilization and stimulated it." Popper, p. 102. "If, as Harold Bloom has lately argued, Shakespeare 'invented the human,' it can be said-with equal hyperbole-that Christianity 'discovered' the individual. In the ancient world, individuals were recognized as members of tribes or nations or families, and conducted themselves accordingly...the Gospels are replete with scenes in which Jesus works one on one, healing this woman's sickness, forgiving that man's sins and calling each to personal conversion. He invites Jews and Gentiles alike to enter God's kingdom. 'Christianity discovers individuality in the sense that it stresses personal conversion,' says Bernard McGinn, professor of historical theology at the University of Chicago Divinity School. 'This is a crucial contribution to Western Civilization because it releases the individual from the absolute constraints of family and society." Newsweek, March 29, 1999, p. 56.
h) "Alfred North Whitehead said Western philosophy is a series of footnotes on Plato. This is largely true." Norman L. Geisler, Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics, p. 594.
i) "Individualism is one of the first areas to be assaulted and removed. As Outcome Based Education (OBE) is implemented, children are taught and graded as groups. This method is called cooperative learning, and the students are constantly pushed toward group think or collectivism. Individualism is out and collectivism is in. This anti-American concept is one of the most obnoxious of the socialistic leveling devices. It is the individualism of America, carried out in the competitive free enterprise system, which has offered the highest standard of living in the world. However, as one observes OBE, the first thing one will notice is that competition is to be eliminated, along with the rewards of academic excellence. We eliminate programs such as the selection of valedictorians and salutatorians." Shirley Correll, Body Snatching, p.8, 9.

You want a straight answer from a liberal Christian, well here it is.
The thing is that liberals are (or at least seem) more open minded in accepting differing opinions. I have no problem with aethists, agnostics, etc (btw, don't label all non-christians as aethists) speaking there mind and there point of view. I also may even listen to the show every now and then to see if they are saying anything that may actually make sense, instead of shutting out the idea without looking into it myself.
Yes, I am Christian born and raised, but there are somethings in Christianity that I question, I therefore seek answers to those questions, which for the most part (from my experience) can not be answered.
Additionaly, in your statement you are comparing right wing shows with a left wing radio network. Do you know for sure that ClearChannel has no "anti-christian" (as you call it) shows?

Because they had an idiot like like Al Franken running the show, Limbaugh, Hannity and the others, all have support and sponsors who buy airtime to have their commercials heard on their programs because they know they have a large listening audience. The exact opposite of what Franken had, the only thing Franken sees is the Senate seat, where he can begin to roll in the bucks with greed and corruption. With Franken, Reid, Pelosi, and Burris, it will be a miracle of any work is done in the Senate as they push their pet projects for their District Pelosi their Capo is already in the lead with 30 million she shanghaied, in the stimulus package for a rare mouse in her district. Franken knew he would get more as a Senator then he ever would at Air America. It is a scary thought with Franken due to take a Senate seat any day, the Democratic Mafia is closely watching the Court to see what they will decide on the Cole Franken lawsuit. Franken decided to go for the Senate after it appeared unlikely that he would get a stimulus check to pay his salary at Air America, where in the Senate, he could get pork barrel money for his own personal use, after he identifies a need in his district.

If the left is atheist, then by all means let them come out and say it.
I am a Christian but not a liberal. I wasn't listening to Air America anyway. I think I would have a hard time finding it on my radio dial anyway!
But why is there always this suspicion, on many issues, that the left does not say what it really means, and that Democrats win only when they soft-pedal (or hide) their true beliefs?

It make Air America's job easier to dismiss people because of their faith.
They by it cuts out 90% of thew world who believe in something bigger than themselves.
Their ratings are so low I can see how they can offend anyone more listeners.
If Hannity or any other conservative talk show was to go on the anti-Christian rants on their shows they would be like you said drop in a New York minute or faster.
Liberals than want to bring up the greed of conservatives that too is myth because it is already out there that Conservative Christians give far more of their own time and money than compare to liberals.
I wish the liberals would direct the same level of hate they have for Christianity as it does against the Muslim terrorists.

I think that liberal Christians will neither promote nor criticize the show. The reason for that is mainly that they understand that being an atheist doesn't mean you worship Satan. Liberal Christians tend to take a "live and let live" attitude about religion, and that extends to include people who don't believe in God as well. They don't feel compelled to make their own religious beliefs a mandate for everyone else. As far as titling it "Theocracy Alert" that's sort of par for the course. Democrats as a whole decry those who seek to insert their religious beliefs into laws that affect us all. So I suppose they are content, by proxy, to let the atheists keep an eagle eye out for that sort of thing. What is more important to liberal Christians - God or political ideology? Obviously they seek to separate the two since they believe in a basic separation of church and state. You wish them to make a choice, but they don't feel a choice is necessary. They are quite capable of maintaining their belief in God and being politically active as two different issues. Unfortunately, conservatives seem to have trouble understanding they are two separate issues. The only times these issues are in the same ballpark for Democrats is when they seek to stop the Republicans from making them one and the same.

We agree on SOOOOOO much! I think we should get married! LOLOL. Now, to answer your question, I would absolutely dump anyone who started promoting anti-Christian shows, or ANYTHING anti-Christian. I won't have to answer to anyone here, in the end. I will only have to answer to God. I want to be in the "well done my good and faithful servant" group.
***Edit***Truth Seeker stated: "There are programs on t.v. that promote atheism, programs that are written, directed or produced by atheists......... shows about gays, etc... I am willing to bet that you still watch television. what is more important to you?? God or tv????? "
This is PRECISELY why I don't watch TV. So, God is WAY more important to me than tv, hands down.

Hmm... "talk" radio. "Does" nothing, just talks. Quick - lets vote in another major party candidate that represents NOBODY.
Then lets back them up by having to listen to someone with an agenda (either side) - painting us into a corner where we get to choose between God and ANYTHING!
I don't know what people find compatible with what - all large groups (the right, the left, the media, minorities, majorities, religions) all fall short. Individuals constantly lean on group dynamics - demeaning their worth in society.
Things are so messed up here that justifying anything is a relative term, and that's why God has to be separate from man's thinking.

I'm neither a Christian nor a Liberal but, allow me.
No. I don't think that Christian liberals will dump that source.
The comfort that it otherwise provides them is too valuable.
Just like I wonder how Muslims rationalize their way around Sharia law when it comes to suicide, I wonder how 'Christian' and 'Liberal' reside in the same intellectual environment.
The inner conflict must be a bear to live through.
Better to let Air America compartmentalize that thought for them and they can cover their eyes and plug their ears screaming LA LA LA LA when the theocracy alert comes on.

Both people in both camps need to realize that talk radio is pure biased partisan drivel. Nothing more, nothing less.
Earnest T, it is quite clear to see where your bias lies:
"those immature fools at Air America ... see fit to broadcast several Atheist's views on God and Religion "
"I'm a Christian and a Conservative . If O'Reilly or Hannity , or Limbaugh , or Ingraham , or Levin , or anybody on the right started promoting anti-Christian shows , I'd dump em in a New York minute"
And you'd be all over them for pro-Christian shows. Clearly you just gravitate towards your religion. Nice to see you're another of God's sheep.
"Come on Liberal 'Christians' , which is more important to you. . . . God or Political Ideology "
Concerning politics (which is what this section is about) in terms of all people, political ideology is more important. The individual can mix their faith with political ideology, but you are a fool if you try to insert faith with politics for the masses.
