My son and I have been watching Spongebob since the beginning. He is now 12. I don't find anything wrong with Spongebob at all. It's a really silly show, but the thing about Spongebob being gay is ridiculous. There was a time when he had a crush on one of the characters, Sandy the squirrel. The mentality of some people today is really sad.

I never noticed any thing questionable with Spongebob either. My best friend has a five year old brother who loves the show.
By the way, Orange Peel, if you watched Nickelodeon in the early to mid 90's, you would know "mature television". Some of the shows, like Ren and Stimy was really perverted in some parts. The shows today are just silly.

Yes! I have no clue how old he is but he has a job, takes boating school lessons and has a pet snail who isn't dying of something so he is "responsible". He acts really silly and does dumb or meaningless things but he's a good little sponge with a good heart. AND HE'S BEAST.

I don't think it is appropriate for younger children, because they try to copy any show that they watch, which i know for a fact, because i have 2 younger brothers who copy the shows they watch. If they are about 8 or 9, it would be alright, but it is still iffy.

Wow.
Did you notice how ALL nickelodeon shows are more mature now and more funny? Half of them are live action shows (real people).
I wish there was more cartoons. :(

i don't let my 8 yr old watch it. it's got a lot of more adult themed content and he's just smart enough to figure out the double meanings sometimes. i'd really rather he learn some things from me rather than a cartoon sponge.
