That said, treason DOES get prosecuted in extreme cases. Look at that kid that got captured with the Taliban back in 2002
I had forgotten about that idiot.

Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.
It is a good law. The problem is the rhetoric spewed all the time when a person speaks out against the government. This is not treason. Nor is it treason to be a Liberal. Sorry Conservatives.

Define "treason."
That is the issue right there. Your definition will differ greatly from the definition of millions of others in this country.
That said, treason DOES get prosecuted in extreme cases. Look at that kid that got captured with the Taliban back in 2002. It has to be a clear-cut and deliberate attempt to usurp our country's government and independent nature. That said, it is easy to fall into gray areas. Take the war for example. You can easily make a legal argument against anyone who does not support the war AND against anyone who DOES. So should all of us be thrown in prison for it? Hmm...

This is a question that begs to be answered by the major media outlets. They won't touch it.
Jane Fonda should have been executed for losing the war in Vietnam. John Kerry should have gone down next. (if anyone had bothered to check his so called 'facts')
I think the major news networks would be put out of business the first day we start enforcing treason laws. The next group to be disjointed would be the bureaucracy in Washington DC.
I can't be live the acts of treason that are committed on a daily basis by political hacks simply to gain a little traction on the nightly news.
My country is out of it's mind.
Thanks to all the gays, hippies and feminazis that have made our country vulnerable. You've done it all in order to worship at the alter of political correctness. I hope you all wake up before it's too late to save us from the Islamo-fascists.
You want an example?????
Just today it is reported that someone in our government leaked the information that we were able to listen in on AL-Quida's communication. As soon as the leak went out into the news, the stream of information stopped.
This is an act of war on the US and if the leaker is found, he should be prosecuted for treason. The reporters who report this leak should also be prosecuted.

None of the examples you list involves helping a foreign nation act against the United States, so they are not treason. Do you have any actual examples of treason, or shall we assume your question cannot be answered since it is based on a fallacy?

The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offence is punished with death.
I don't know either... I can think of MANY on the Left and a few on the Right who could be hung until dead under this law.

how does treason "go on all the time" without being prosecuted?
i am sure that all kinds of people get away with a host of different crimes, does that mean that nothing should be made illegal?

Can you give any concrete examples? Considering you know exactly what the legal definition of treason is.

I don't think anyone's been prosecuted since the Rosenburgs. There are so many traitors and seditionists in America that it would be impossible to prosecute them all.
