Sure - I'm a Paraglider pilot. I have a 220 square foot aerofoil kite :-)

I've flown in England at Crowdecote & in Arizona (South Mountain, Apache Maid and the Craters).

1977, during cross-country travel, using New Mexico made scott sled purchased at factory. It was retired on USA East Coast and last seen towing piece of flotsam toward Europe. I managed to make a marriage proposal without an attached string. My present recreation includes no kites nor is it likely. I learned people shoot at kites outside El Paso and Tuscaloosa. Nothing about kites is lame. Go fly one.

About 10 years ago I went out with one of my kids into the back fields and started a craze in the neighbourhood all the dads and kids used to come out with kites every Sunday.

THE LAST TIME THAT I'VE FLOWN A KITE I WAS ABOUT 17 YRS OLD, I AM NOW 53YRS OLD. AT THE TIME I WAS LIVING IN TRINIDAD, MY ELDER BROTHER AND I TOGETHER WITH THE OTHERS SIBLINGS USED TO HAVE LOTS OF FUN DOING THIS, THERE IS A MUCH LARGER VERSION OF THE KITE THAT WE CALLED A MIGHT BULL ,IT'S MADE OF AMUCH THICKER STRING AND WE USED TO LEAVE IT FLYING HIGH IN THE SKY ALL NIGHT LONG. IT WAS THE BEST FUN .

yes I have, where I live there was an open field beside my house and there were no power lines for about half a mile. in was a windy late march day. my dad and little brother and me had all gotten kite kits and for a couple hours we had them flying. latter we put all our string on my dads box kite and it flew so high and far that you could barely see it. when the string broke it just kept going until we could see it no more.
