How old is the mp3 PLAYER and are the software drivers Vista compatible - if not then it won't work properly.

Most of the companies are playing catch up with drivers for Vista - you would need to check the manufacturers website for updated drivers for Vista.

If it is a, no disrespect, 'budget' priced MP3 player - you may never get Vista compatible software.

What make is it - what model number - how old is it - where did you get it from - all these and more need to be answered.

You may also want to try changing the USB lead - my MP3 Player is 2 years old but Vista picks it up as an extra drive - BUT, I had trouble with the crappy USB lead that as included - changed that and it picked it up straight away.
