Please, please try to get your news about the world from some reliable source. There are many, many books and journals describing WHO invented these things and HOW they invented them, and all the intermediate technological steps along the way. Lasers, microchips, space travel, etc. did not just magically appear one day; there was a long period of development time, which was well documented in many, many journals of the day. This is public information!

P.S. There are no flying cars to speak of; no time travel; and no objects traveling at the speed of light. There are other channels on TV besides "Sci-Fi"; consider watching PBS; or better yet, reading something other than the Internet.

Your logic is faulty. Not all of your listed items are "true", and of those that are "true", three have nothing to do with technology at all (space travel, a generic term, speeds of light and sound). I don't know about "flying cars micro chips" and "brain implants". We haven't found a UFO to analyze for them, nor have we determined that a UFO uses a laser.

How about it's just because we humans are a clever bunch of monkeys, and we've invented most of this stuff on our own? Not all of it, of course. We didn't invent the "speed of light" or "speed of sound". Those are fundamental properties of the universe, and they've been patiently waiting for us to figure them out. The speed of light was first roughly estimated in 1676 - see the first entry below. The speed of sound was first measured even earlier - in 1640.

Great question!
It could be imagination (like Jules Verne)
It could be that governments know something the general public does not.
Food for thought.
