polished my full length mirror just a little bit harder to wear it down, it would start to see things my way and tell me I'm slimmer than I really am?

Oh well, it was worth a thought! lol x

LOL! Sylvia!! Go for it and let me know if it helps with those little lines which keep appearing, everytime I look in my mirror!

LOL!

If it works for you, I would love to know about it!! I'd go out and buy myself the same type of mirror. I fractured my ankle 3 months ago and I am still not allowed to walk on it so I have been sitting for the last 3 months. I can feel the extra weight around my thighs and abdomen. I have made up my mind to join the YMCA and begin a regular exercises program when the doctor tells me it is OK. Good luck to you.

If you have a mirror that you can flex in any way, try to bend the outside edges so that the center of the mirror is caved in ever so slightly.

This will create a concave mirror in which everything will appear smaller than it really is. (Its the same thing that your side view mirror does, but you don't have to put the words across the bottom.)

Sorry, to have to tell you this but it's NOT the mirror! :O)))

Best, forget about a youth that is long gone and learn to love yourself in that mirror everyday and appreciate all the good stuff that your body has done for you along the way.

My little round American body has seen me through a lot of crap and I'm still strong and able and I'm proud of every scar, every wound, every mark of the life I've lived.
I may be 45 lbs. overweight but at least by God I'm not addicted to cigarettes anymore (smoked for 30 years!) or have emphysema and I have a chance to live a better and longer life. I may have my grandma's turkey neck, batwings for arms, 1 1/2 breasts left from breast cancer and a permanent second set of teeth following jaw surgery but I'm alive and mobil and still full of piss and vinegar.

I may look terrible for a 20something but I'm damn gorgeous for a 60something who's been down the roads I've been down in my life and I, believe it or not, have virtually no face wrinkles. Go figure.

You're never going to see what you want in a mirror, we didn't see it when we were teenagers picking ourselves to pieces and crying because we were ugling ducklings amongst the other "beautiful girls" in school and we're certainly NOT going to see radiant beauty now that age plays on us like bluegrass music on fiddles.

But there is a beauty that goes beyond a damned old mirror or the numbers on a scale. The beauty of life.
A family member of mine was forever bemoaning that she wanted to lose about 50 lbs and be all slim again. She got her wish and lost that 50 lbs. to the cancer that killed her.

I was at my daughter's a few weeks ago and she took me into a room with a floor length mirror sitting by the wall. She told me to walk away from it, the farther away I got, the slimmer I got. I told her I didn't notice any difference. lol
It's the kind of mirror we all need.

Just from personal experience...you might try polishing the mirror with something like Crisco, in order to get that result. Polishing the mirror with Windex is just too down right truthful.

It might distort your entire look! Just throw it away and look for a skinny mirror. When I go to the hospital, the glass door on the left make me look the way I should look. The one on the right makes me look like I weigh 300 lbs. lol x

Try to pick up a second hand mirror from the circus. Some of them can make you look real slim. Or, if you can't find one, take your glasses off and leave the lights turned off. If you squint hard enough, you ought to look real slim. It works for me. LOL

Tilt it back just a little. This is a trick used by many shops that sell womens' clothes. It gives the impression of being slightly taller and slimmer.
Anything that makes you feel good is worth a try!
