I'm sixteen years old, currently still living at my parents' house, but I can't stand it. We fight all the time about the stupidest things. I already have someone who's promised me a home where I know things would be much better off. I know it's only two more years, but I just don't think I can take it any longer. What can I do?

In Tennessee, can a minor be emancipated? - Yes.

For the reasons you stated? - Not a chance.

You need to show:
1. You are mature enough to live on your own. Emancipation makes you the same as an adult in the eyes of the law. Arguing with your parents because you don't like their rules will only convince the court you are immature.
2. That you can provide for yourself financially.
3. That you are better served to be out side of the home.
4. That their are no other options beside emancipation.

If you are grown-up enough to be emancipated you should be grown-up enough to tough it out two more years.

Actually, while the correct answer is yes, Tennessee makes no STATUTORY provision for emancipation under law.

Emancipation is a fact-based event which was defined under Morgan v. Morgan, 1988 Tenn. App. Lexis 792 (Tenn. Ct. App. Dec. 7, 1988)

Contact a lawyer or local law enforcement agency to try to get that data.

My second G-F was emancipated in WV her family was wacked out really insane.

Hire a Lawyer and try to divorce your parent and make them pay for the lawyer.
Put in the Divorce papers that you need support till your 21 and college paid for too.
That should get your parents attention and maybe they will grow up.
Or maybe your looking for a way to run away legally with your boyfriend.
