LOL. You are on a roll today. Was this before or after you cut her hair? Give her the money back and say, "Here sweetie. I know how upset you are over your bangs and I thought some financial compensation might make it up to you." But, don't tell her it was hers in the first place. LOL.

You should have asked for it in the beginning ... simply stating that you were either low on cash or just didn't have any on you at the time ... then merely telling her that you would give the money back as soon as possible. Now you're in a bind ... I suggest that you give it back with an explanation and an apology, explaining that you should have asked. She will have a lot more respect for you, hopefully will use it as a "learning lesson", and "you will sleep much better at night".

Yes, you must tell her and "not just keep it". You are the mom, and need to fess up to this and set a better example for your daughter... not to mention, not leaving your purse out for her to steal from.

I think you should tell her and also give the money back. Next time just ask her and she may give more than what you need!!

Put it back, she earned it fair and square. At least if it was for a good cause, then tell her u loaned it and will put it back.

Give it back, why didn't you just tell her you needed to borrow it? The only time I've ever heard of parent's stealing from their kids is for dope.
