Actually, you have a 160 GB hard drive and yes, for surfing and listening to music, what you have is more than adequate. But you may be finding yourself wanting to do more later down the road, in which case I'd opt for the most RAM you can afford.

Plus, if you want to be sure your laptop doesn't become an antique, sell it in one or two years and use the money towards a new computer.

I'm not sure what you mean that you are using it for music. If you are using it to play music, then you are fine. If the computer is running Windows Vista, you may want to upgrade the memory to 2GB, Vista has some stiff resource issues and more memory will help if you like all those pretty visuals. Any computer that has been made is the last 5 years can handle surfing the internet and using basic applications.

Although not my favorite brand for what you are using it for that is plenty. Depending on how much misic you store and/or video files 160 GB is plenty of space. If you want to play games on it its is a little limited but thats a penalty for most laptops in general. If your runnign Vista I would suggest adding another 1gb of ram because it is a bit of a memory hog.

It should be fine as is. I would go ahead and put one more gb of ram in cause vista demands more resources. If you get too many song files, you can burn them on you dvd burner or external hdd.
