Not really because now that US intelligence is totally focused on Islamic terrorists (the same way they were on KGB during the Cold War), something they weren't really doing enough of before 9/11, & given the fact that terrorist, even with 9/11, are very low tech & can't get into the US as easily as they did before 9/11, I'd say the US is pretty safe. The only problem is that every day US troops occupy Iraq more radical Muslims are created which means more terrorists being created which make it harder for US intelligence to stop them.

it's not that terrorism isn't a threat ... you don't have to go back any further than 9/11 to see that it most definitely is!... it's just that I feel we have gone about almost everything the wrong way since 9/12. The day after 9/11 a newscaster actually asked me how I thought we should react.. and I said then my greatest fear is that we would lose ourselves in this, and in the end be no better than the monsters who attacked us.... of course they didn't air that :P ... and I don't believe we have sank that low... but we have definitely lost ourselves as a nation... which is causing Bin Laden great joy I am sure. What do I think we should have done? We should have improved our defense instead of flexing our offense... and we should have worked on our surgical strategies... for that is what is needed in today's world.

Yes and no.
While it's obvious that the possibility of terrorist attacks is a very real threat,it's about as statistically likely as any one of us here dying in a car wreck .
In other words, while it's possible I might die in a terrorist attack,I stand the same chance of being run over by a semi on the interstate.

I need not fear because our homeland security is supposed to find and proesecute those already here and to prevent any more from entering the country. Those not here can't do us any damage. Their big thing is that we, infidels as they call us, are on their sacred land. The greatest recruiting tool they have is to get the infidels off their land. As long as we stay we are in danger there. Once we leave their reason for terror will end.
There are some who want us to be afraid. They want us to think there are boogy men (Islamic terrorists) lurking about just waiting to pounce. They want us afraid so we will go along with their agenda. But, as FDR so apppropriately said "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself".

I'm concerned about all the invisible sky god worshipers and the threats they pose to our freedoms. They are all equally bad. The time for tolerance is over. It's time time put these traitors in prison where they belong. Their imaginary god(s) is irrelevant.

No. I am more concerned about my the safety of my vehicle and survivability in a major accident.
Islamic terrorism rates very low on my scale.
Below violent crime (for which 100,000 people have been killed since 9/11).
Below lightning strikes and fatal bee stings (which statistically rate higher than death by terrorism).

No I am not concerned. Not because I don't think they are a threat but more because even if they are , most people will never be affected by a terrorist attack.

If our Intelligence is supposed to be doing it's job then I wouldn't be too worried. However we still should be concerned about Terrorists in general.

i find some of these answers very troubling... i'm hearing that heart disease and cars kill more people than 9/11 did... that may be so... but, have you heard of a car wreck that killed 3000 people? of course not... as far as health issues, that's not even viable.. there's many variable involved with that such as personal choice.. the people directly involved in 9/11 did not choose anything but living their day to day lives... THATs why it's different.. can't believe someone would say that..
and to the guy who wrote a friggin book.. you are badly misinformed... stay off the blog sites... this is about fundamentalist islam believing that God has punished them due to their indifference and willingness to allow the West to a) exist and b) "push" their sins and vices upon the Muslim people... Islam was once the most powerful religion on earth.. and looked as though it would swallow the entire planet while Europe was mired in a dark age... but, as the Europeans began to make strides in technology and began to colonize.. the middle eastern region was one of those that succombed to those powers.. Muslims are a verrrry proud people.. and they needed an explaination as to why they continue to suffer... and instead of looking to their governments, the powers that be (i.e. clerics), explained for them.. God has been ticked off because you swayed from the teachings of Islam... they have been breaking the Golden Rules of Islam... associating with infadels... the Quran teaches you to convert, rule/tax, or kill infadels.. and that's the direction they are heading with the guidance of these powerful clerics and cell leaders... it's easy to manipulate those that are downtrodden and looking for answers.. that's what is happening.. so, don't twist things to make the West out to be the bad guy here.. we dont murder 3000 innocent people in a matter of hours just because they are of a different religion or culture.. don't blame what's happening today on what ancestors of Europe did during the Crusades... what fundamentalist Islam is doing now is FAR worse.. and will continue to get worse so long as people want to take the pacifistic approach.. that's what they are banking on...
