Yes, I've doubled my assests. But your question has more to do with the individual's personality and abilities. The sloth will never get ahead, even if gov't pays him for his laziness.

Oh yeah.
My tax burden is much more manageable these days as well as my salary increase. It practically doubled due mostly to a company started by an evil rich man five years ago(sarcasm) which has been very successful.
All of the owners are conservatives. Go figure.
ADD-
Wow! I get a thumbs down because I'm doing better today than 6 years ago? Now thats support for your fellow man.
Only a lib would do that. Maybe because of jealously? Inability to better themselves without gub'ment help? Who knows?

With the rising costs of everything and some changes in family I have been conserving even more than I already did. Some use to think me cheap, but I consider it wise given the current situation. That is my Republican upbringing. I have to wonder why these Republican's in office that say they are conservative spend so much money on nothing but troubles.
The democratic side of me says that if we are to spend money then it should be for actual good reasons such as our domestic future.

Not really. Seems everyone I know was doing much better economy before Bush's first term. I would say the over all cost of living (utilities, food, property and local county taxes) has skyrocketed since his second term.

Yes, It took 4 years of gaining experience at one location, getting paid like crap and barely living paycheck to paycheck, then to find another job that pays me a lot more, but I guess the business of importing goods from overseas will never go out of business.

I'm better off because I got married. And I believe I got my promotion after GWB was inaugurated.
However, gas costs more, my health insurance is far more expensive, and we can't sell our condominium, so we're renting it out to my father-in-law.
And, I'm giving more to charity, partly because I'm a good person, and partly because I suspect private charities are being asked to pick up more slack.

No.
Even though I earn a lot more money (due to hard work and achievement of professional license), my spending power is less.
The minor tax cuts I received have not offsetted inflation (including increases in food, gasoline, etc.), nor the increases to my property taxes, municipal service fees (water, sewage, garbage), increases in local sales tax, etc.

Uh no. High gas prices and a trillion dollar war debt that will have to be paid, if not today, then soon.
I'm also not any "safer". OBL is still at large and our borders and ports aren't secure.
What a horrible job he has done.

No, I lost my job within a year of his assuming office. I found other jobs, but my income has not returned to pre-Bush levels.
