Considering that he started two wars without being attacked, one of which lasted over ten years, I guess you can assume that his response would make what we are seeing now look like a cub scout outing.

During the cold war era--I suspect that JFK would have had the NUKES locked and ******. Seriously, cold war warrior--I would guess that there would be some glassy craters where some of the cities used to be. The Soviets back then--well--they were reasoned and most likely would have bitched afterwards but done nothing if we would have

Hard to say. In his day I think he would have taken a hard line as he did in Vietnam. I.E. Sending in combat troops. I think he would have gone to Afg. and Iraq. He wouldn't buy into the bomb the Saudis argument as that is where the terrorist came from. That would be like bombing the US for the KKK.

Today though I think he would have tried to talk to people and be diplomatic, and probably would have seen another attack on the country.

I just think he was a more hawkish guy who would do what was right, but his party would force him in the other direction.

John (Jack) F. Kennedy faced down Krushev(sp) during the Cuban Missile Crises. I well remember, as I was ready to head to Cuba, in the US ARMY !!!!
JFK, HAD Two Bushels of Brass, in his jeans, and he would NOT have wasted time with the "Undecided Nations" ! He would have gone after Bin Laden, with EVERY THING the USA had !!!!!!!!
And, if the "Undecided Nations" didn't like it, he would have politely told them to KISS OUR - OUR ASZ'S!!!!!
IF the terrorist's and / or their supporters had even thought about returning to the USA, he would have "NUKED THEIR ASZ'S OUT OF EXISTENCE" !!!!!!!!!!
I was not a big supporter of JFK, but I must admit, HE HAD THE BRASS !!!!!!
TOO BAD THE SAME CAN NOT BE SAID, TODAY !!!

He would have arrested the Bin Laden family instead of letting them go like Bush. There would have been a fact finding to determine who actually carried out the attack. He would have sent more troops than Bush has, but they would have gone to Afghanistan to get Bin Laden! Remember him? He's still as free as a bird.

stayed on target Bin Laden

FLIP
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
Washington Post, 9/17/01, UPI: Bush said he wants accused terrorist leader Osama bin Laden "dead or alive.” “I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI
AP, 12/14/01: President Bush pledged anew Friday that Osama bin Laden will be taken "dead or alive."

FLOP:
Capturing OBL no longer a priority:
G.W. Bush, 3/13/02: I don't know where Bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
