My husband and I went off the pill to start trying 5 months ago. We have been excited to start a family and I get disapointed when I take a test and it comes back neg. So is it normal to have doubts every once and a while that I am ready? I am now faced with taking Clomid (because of my irregular cycles0 and the choice has really made me think. Anyone else have these same thoughts? Anyone else try Clomid? What experience did you have? Twins run in my husbands side of the family so I guess Clomid will increase our chances. Any help would be appreciated!

My husband & I have been trying for a few months also & I get scared all the time. I believe this is probably a normal feeling that would be even scarier if you didn't feel.

I think it's the unknown that does it... will I be a good mother? What if this is a mistake?

I guess you just have to take that leap of faith & just do the best you can. Good luck!

Do you really have to take clomid? It's only been 5 months ! When we wanted to get pregnant again I went off the pill and got pregnant within 7 months & with identical twin girls. They are the first twins in my family. Just keep on trying you never know you could be stessed .Good luck to you.

I have never used Clomid, but I know no one is ever really for their 1st baby. No matter how much planning you think you do, or mentally preparing yourself, it is still a major life change. Your probably stressing yourself out over it, as I did for years. Once I finally said, I am not trying anymore, I got pregnant!!! It will happen when the time is right :) Good Luck

I'm pregnant with my 2nd and I think it's only natural to wonder "am I ready." I was the same way with my 1st. (Both pregnancies planned, by the way). My husband and I wanted to start our family but were worried about finances and time, it's amazing how you make it all work. Good luck! Never tried Clomid, sorry.

Try an ovulation kit.
My wife and I tried to get pregnant after she got off the pill.
No luck after about 2 years. A friend recommended and ovulation test. Bam! my wife is 3 months pregnant! It basically tells you when you are most fertile.
I assume your husband has been checked out for good sperm count?

you will know when u are ready if u love the person and feel like the time is right with u and if u are comfortable being with the person then what are u waiting for go ahead and stop the waiting its just going to tear u apart because a man ca;nt live without what he needs and a woman can like without the comfort of a man

It is perfectly natural to have concerns and the fact that you do should tell you that you will be a good parent because you take it as a serious responsibility.
