can someone tell me importance use and purpose of organosilicons in chemistry

Organosilanes are compounds where silicon is linked to hydrocarbon groups and the like as opposed to silicon containing rocks, abrasives, etc.

Some of the most important uses are for silicone rubbers, caulking compounds, silicone oils, and other lubricants. I believe many of the polymers used in soft contact lenses are based on silicones.
