My 4 year old son is called Kayden. I got it through changing the name Cadan, which is irish to a way which would avoid spelling confusion. A year or so after he was born the name became very common. I now feel quite sad about that. Whats your opinion on his name? Please don't be too harsh as he is a real 4 year old boy!!

No he hasn't been called names, it's just i hear it alot now and i wanted him to feel unique as he got older but hey thats just the way it goes!!
Just wondred what people thought of the name. I do love it though so i suppose it shouldn't matter.

I think that Kayden is a great name, and though it is common, I would not worry.

We want our children to stand out, but we also want them to fit in. With a name like Kayden he will definately fit in.
:)

I think that Kayden is a great name. Don't worry about it being popular now, I know that's a little frustrating, but none of the others matter because you picked your son's name with love.

I'm not really fond of the ayden names. I go to a really small church, and there are maybe 40 kids, if that. And two of the boys (ages 5 and 8), are both named Kayden (although I know they're spelled differently, just don't know how).

Who cares if it's popular? Who cares what everyone else thinks? You picked the named because you liked it, right? My friend is due to have a baby boy in November and she is naming him Cadan but spelling it differently. I personally like the name.

I undestand how you feel. when my brother and his wife had their first child, they named him Devon after a character on the old Beauty and the Beast TV series. Within a couple of years, we were suddenly aware of several other boys who'd been given the same name.
Have to face the fact that names, like so many other things these days, go through "fad phases", coming and going like styles of clothes, hula-hoops, and fusion cuisine. "Next, please!"
I think it's a good sounding name and unless he's expressed an interest in being called something else, you shouldn't worry.

I like it but I much prefer it spelled Caden or Kaden. People use Y's to make names feminine so I would think that Kayden could be a girl.

To be honest my heart sinks whenever I see a birth announcement and the name is what sounds like something someone made up on the spur of the moment - and it always starts with a K - Kaysha, Konan, Keenan, Keisha, Kyrita - take your pick.

It may sound cute for a baby/toddler, but that person is going to have to live with that name for the rest of their life.

There is nothing wrong with Kayden, but if you want to be different, change the spelling, to like Kaeden, or Kaydan, my name is a commanly spelled Antwoine, or something of the sort, but my name is spelled Antuwuan, see what i mean, a name can sound the same but be totally different.

It's a great name, and I like your spelling of it. I appreciate your frustration about wanting to maintain the specialness of the name, but names go in cycles, and as he gets older, I'm sure you will encounter fewer Kayden's.

I like the name Kayden and if it is what you liked and chose when you named him - don't look back! It's a nice name. Apparently, if it became popular, it just means other moms agree that it's a great name for a boy!
You did fine, relax!
