it's been about 9 months since I have been off the birth control and I finally just had a period a week ago!!! My period was normal and so forth, but my questions are, why did it take me almost 9 months to get my period after I stopped taking the pill, and since I'm not preggy yet (9 months unprotected) does it mean i'm infertile??? (also while I was on the pill I missed a few doses and was late often)

You took a medication on a regular basis that prevents pregnancy. This is not something that can be easily flushed out of your system. You need to give your body time to rid itself of the birth control. It depends on your body. This does not mean you are infertile. Every women is different. Some women get pregnant in a week other it can take moths or years. Even women who are perfectly healthy. Just relax I am sure you are not infertile. Go see your OBGYN and tell them how you've been trying to get pregnant. If you'd like they can run fertility tests on you to put you mind at ease. Keep trying and I am sure you will be pregnant soon. Good luck!
