Science fair project. I have 3 cups of water..how can i get a method of telli which is cleaner??.

Use water testing kits. I would think they would be available at DIY stores or Home and Garden stores.

Use electricity.

How it works:

when water is pure, it will not conduct electricity. Pure water cannot do so because it lacks ions (atoms with an electric charge). The only way ions will be in it is when impurities are present.

What to do:
You will need a battery pack or DC power supply and a ammeter (measures current)

Connect the ammeter to one end of the power supply. Make sure the red contact is connected to the positive end. Put the black contact in water. Connect a piece of wire to the negative end of the power supply, and dip its other end in the water.

What to look for:
low current reading = few impurities
high current reading = lot of impurities.

You can do additional research on your own to further expand the idea, but I hope this helps... :)
