Why would someone choose UPS/FedEx 1-2 day delivery instead of USPS Express? I was getting a quote for a package (a digital camera), and USPS Express is much cheaper.

Thanks.

It's not always cheaper. It depends on the zone, the day, and the time of day you want it delivered by.

Did you know that the USPS actually contracts out a lot of their Express Mail to FedEx? That's why there's a FedEx drop box outside many post offices...that was part of the deal.

usps customer service is not as good and usually takes longer to arrive than ups and fedex, however like the guy above me said fedex does ship some of usps packages; mainly documents though.

most small businesses and people concerned about money ship usps, bigger businesses and people who need more/better service like local pickup, friendly staff, not having to wait in line for hours, quicker delivery etc...choose ups and fedex

if you have time and want to save money go for usps

The company I work for uses UPS 99% of the time. We never use USPS at all, and only use Fed Ex if the customer requests it.

We get a volume incentive with UPS, though, as we ship alot of packages every week.

When I ship something personal, I go with UPS. It's much easier for me to track. Their website is very user friendly.

If I didn't have to use the USPS at all, I wouldn't. They are the least reliable, in my opinion and experience.

It really depends. USPS is usually cheaper for small, light items, but I've found that FedEx is best for larger, weightier things. Plus FedEx and UPS have insurance built in.

UPS and FedEx are much more reliable than USPS.
