On Sept. 17, the soldier and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) filed suit against Army Maj. Freddy Welborn and US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, charging violations of Hall's constitutional rights, including being forced to submit to a religious test to qualify as a soldier.

The MRFF plans more lawsuits in coming weeks, says Michael "Mikey" Weinstein, who founded the military watchdog group in 2005. The aim is "to show there is a pattern and practice of constitutionally impermissible promotions of religious beliefs within the Department of Defense."

CAIN: Wrong answer. Christianity is responsible for more bloodshed and terrorism than all wars in recent history combined.

Col. Weinstein an assistant General Council under Reagan first spoke out against as single incident regarding his son, but has been inundated with support and stories from a great many others till he realized that it was a national program to create a theocracy.

While he has some specifics concerning the American military most were unaware of the fight. But the attempt to install an American Theocracy is going on everywhere. Even some very conservative religions like Southern Baptists are fighting to remove theses snakes that have stolen their church.

While they adapt the trappings of Christianity, they are like the Islamists who adapt the trappings of Islam, while pursuing ideas abhorrent to both. Like Islamists they are aware their actual ideology has little appeal, so use subterfuge, and disinformation to get support from the unaware.

I agree that for the most part that Christianity is the first and foremost religion which is supported by the military. I am pagan and knew many of the other pagans in the military and their Sabbats were not respected, while the Christians were.

I think it directly corresponds to the willingness to not learn about the other religions. You fear the things that you don't understand.

Another point to be made is the fact that a Christians are easier to be led than a person who is a Pagan or an atheist who actually QUESTION their superiors. Christians are duped easier than others. It is not a cheap shot at Christians it is just the truth.

My son is a Chaplain's Assistant,1ST Calvary, in Taji, Iraq at this very moment. My son was not brought up in a strictly religious atmosphere...his father and I went through "spurts" of attending churches. When he was 12, he started attending church with a friend of his and he found his calling with the Lord. I have never tried to push him one way or the other. Being in the service and a Chaplain's Assistant, he has had to learn the difference between the many forms of Religion that is practiced here in the United States. I doubt seriously that he has ever forced anyone to be a Christian or made anyone's life difficult because they were not.

Let us also remember folks...this is a VOLUNTEER military in the United States......if you don't want to fight, you don't have to enlist. It's as simple as that. When the gentleman who felt Christianity was being shoved down his throat, he had the choice to get out. It's as simple as that.

Greetings. mainly because a religious fanatic is more dependable when it comes to committing genocide against other people who have a different religion. A brainless fanatic is perfect for genocide, regard the concentration camp guards at German concentration camps in World War 2. German troops were found unsuitable for this duty to exterminate the Jews and people of eastern Europe. they had to import religious fanatics from the other heavily Christian nations. they happily exterminated the prisoners where the German guards were having problems with a high suicide rate when forced to over see the exterminations. Is more of the same thing. trying to create religious fanatics in our military for genocide. Otherwise separation of religion and state should have prevented this from happening.

@ Mel, your son is not being force fed Christianity because he is already a Christian. If someone tells him how believing in good will help him, this is going to sound normal to him. Because he is already full of Christian beliefs.

@ Dancer, American troops are already blowing up kids while trying to destroy "the terrorists".

@ Rich M. I totally agree with you.

Par for the course, really.
But then, it's like that everywhere.

In America, the military wants you to be Christian.
In the Middle East, the militaries support Sharia law...
What's the difference?
They're both wrong.

There is an organized movement trying to institute a theocratic dictatorship in the United States. In order to overthrow a democracy,it helps to control the military beforehand.

Edit-I like how the answerers above me didn't bother to follow the link you supplied.Of course, they would of just claimed the Christian Science Monitor is a liberal rag. It's not. It's the only unbiased source of news in this country.

Ya know....if all you 'crazy' people would stop reading things in articles that aren't there....you might actually figure things out.

There will ALWAYS be a few very religious in ANY group. And in this instance....those few believe that the only way they will get home in one piece is to believe in THEIR God!

Jeez....get off it....unless you were in combat....you have NO IDEA what these soldiers are going through. If someone said faith in Santa would protect you...they would all be praying to Santa!
